After introducing the new monitoring functionality in v9.2 (and up) quite a few users asked us to add the possibility to disable it, to save a few more CPU cycles on older computers. This feature is availble in version 9.5 released today, and is located in Menu>Edit>Settings>Database, named "Enable database".

By default it is set to enabled, as it was in previous versions, so nothing changes if the user is fine spending a few CPU cycles for monitoring and statistics.
